What God ordains?
What Man wills?
That which causes the least pain?

Theologians and Philosophers endlessly debate
Parents and teachers instinctively know
Politicians and Rulers remain in the Dark
Writers and Poets express the angst.

Is Heaven, the absence of pain?
Is Nirvana God's will fulfilled?
Is a mother's smile or a lover's caress
The ultimate truth that we seek?

About the author

Morton Leibowitz

Morton Leibowitz, MD, FACP, FACC, a Professor of Internal Medicine and Cardiology at New York University, came to live in Israel with his wife Ruth in 1996. A resident of Raanana, he founded the Cardiac Prevention and Rehabilitation Center at Meir Hospital in Kfar Saba and currently serves as a senior research consultant in the Chief Physician’s office at Kupat Holim Clalit. His avocations are literature, poetry and history.

Morty and Ruth are the proud grandparents of 8 and enjoy the nachas of watching them grow up and proudly serve in Israel in Zahal and Sherut Leumi.
