Judith Cooper-Weill was born in London, UK. She studied at Queens College, Harley Street, and at the Sorbonne in Paris. She came to live in Israel in 1964 at the age of 20.

A professional translator and editor, she is the author of Habatim Nidmu leHekhalot (The Houses Were Like Palaces), the Story of Neve Tzedek, where she has lived since 1989.  Judith co-ran the First Tuesday Breakfast Network for professional women together with Joanna Yehiel and Wendy Geri between 1983-89 (out of which grew the Israel Womens Network chaired by Alice Shalvi). Judith also authored the monthly and then weekly columns called "A Life in the Day" for Israel Magazine and Newsview between the years 1980 to 1989.

During the 1973 war in Israel Judith volunteered working with families of missing soldiers from Ramat Hasharon. Today she is active in conservation. She is on the Tel Aviv committee and the International task force of the Council for the Preservation of Israeli Heritage Sites, chaired by Tamar Tuchler.

Judith has two children and six grandchildren.
