Jane Klapper grew up in Yorkshire, North England. She qualified as a State Registered Nurse, Midwife and Health Visitor. In 1959 she came to live in Israel.She worked at Elisha Hospital, Haifa, after completing a kibbutz ulpan. As an animal lover she and her husband, an Israeli, always had dogs and other animals, breeding dogs and showing them. After 20 years of volunteering with the Israel Guide Dog Center, she is now dogless but still very involved with them and has time to enjoy her grandson, her two daughters and other activities.
