Anne Segall was born in Bulawayo (then Southern Rhodesia) on April 20, 1948, to Masha and John Segall. She has one brother, Norman Harold Segall. The family moved to London in 1961. Anne Segall was born in Bulawayo (then Southern Rhodesia) on April 20, 1948, to Masha and John Segall. She has one brother, Norman Harold Segall. The family moved to London in 1961. Anne was educated at Queen’s Gate School and St Paul’s Girls’ School. She studied at St Hilda’s College, Oxford (1966 – 1969), BA HONS Politics, Philosophy and Economics. 

Her professional career was in Journalism, writing as Anne Segall. From 1971 – 1976 she worked for the Investors’ Chronicle, as the Economics and Banking Correspondent; and from 1981 – 2002 as the Economics Correspondent for The Daily Telegraph. From 2002 she did freelance writing and Holocaust research.

In 1973 Anne married David Howard Evans (barrister, QC). David died in November 2019. Anne has two children, Oliver Anthony Evans (1977) and Edward Alexander Evans (1980), and six granddaughters. Anne immigrated to Israel on July 14, 2021.
