Adele Rubin came to Israel in 1951 from Cape Town South Africa after completing a first degree at Cape Town University. Upon marriage to Mike, she left Jerusalem for Tel Aviv. She has 2 children and 5 grandchildren. She has taught English for about 20 years (the last 10 at Wingate college). From 1973 she became an active volunteer for the Ministry of Defense and then started a new career as Volunteer Coordinator Of the Herzliya Municipality (1978-1986) She is proud to have helped Merle Guttmann establish ESRA in Herzliya (1979) as well as other projects, Enosh Herzliya and volunteer dentist project in the social welfare Dept.ETC Her role on the magazine board was representing Esra activities, especially those connected with volunteering. Having moved from the center of the county, the magazine is a wonderful way of keeping in touch and much appreciated.
